The Norwegian Trekking Association
The Norwegian Trekking Association (in short DNT) is Norway's biggest hiking and outside activity organisation. Here you can find the answers to enjoy outdoor life and hiking in Norway. We show you how you can become a DNT member, and what you should wear and pack in you backpack before hiking in Norway. Learn about the DNT cabins and lodges and get ideas for hiking tours in the different mountain areas.

How to book accommodation at DNT cabins
With our new booking site we have made it easy for you to plan and book your next stay at DNT cabins. Accomodation cannot always be booked in advance, but everyone who comes to a cabin will have a place to sleep, either in a bunk or on a mattress on the floor.
Need to know about Norwegian outdoor life
The Norwegian outdoors is fantastic, but hiking or skiing in it can be challenging. Both terrain and weather vary, so it’s best to be well prepared. Load your pack well; know how to use and always carry a map and compass. Here are some hints for safe hiking and skiing in Norway. Enjoy your trekking!
The DNT Key
Most unstaffed DNT cabins are locked with the DNT-key. So it’s always wise to have the little DNT-key with you on a hike or ski tour.
