Unique opportunity to be a chef in one of Norway's most beautiful and renowned tourist cabins?
Now you have the opportunity to apply for a unique Chef position. Stranddalshytta is looking for a seasonal cook from June to September 2025. The cabin is known for its delicious homemade food and hospitality.
We are looking for a chef who is passionate about serving food with identity and quality. This is a unique job, suitable for someone who loves outdoor life and would like to spend an entire season living in the remote mountains at Norway's finest tourist cabin.
Stranddalen is known for food with identity and has a clear food philosophy. Sustainability and reducing food waste are important, so we choose ingredients carefully and make all food from scratch. Since the cabin is located five kilometers from the nearest road, we need to be able to work wonders with the limited ingredients we have at our disposal. The manager, Halvor Hedenstad, is a chef himself and will greatly contribute to training and developing a new menu. Together, we will create magical culinary experiences for our guests.
Human qualities are very important when working as a chef at a tourist cabin. Here, you work closely with colleagues, relatively isolated, long days throughout the season. You must be able to integrate well into a team, be patient, and adaptable. You also need to be flexible regarding work tasks. At Stranddalen, we don’t say "my job and your job"; we solve all tasks together in a good community.
To apply for this position, you must have a culinary degree or equivalent education from abroad. We prefer that you speak Norwegian, but English-speaking applicants will also be considered.
