Easy three-day round trip on skis from cabin to cabin in Langsua
Skiing in Langsua is a real fairy tale. There are lots of great options for fantastic skiing trips along routes marked by branches in these inviting mountains.
Day 1 Syntsgardsætra to Liomseter
Distance: 14 km
The skiing trip starts at Synstgardsætra above Gausdal and covers 14 km in easy terrain before you can take off your skis and rucksack at Liomseter lodge. If you’d prefer to transport your luggage and/or yourself by snow scooter to the cabin, contact the managers in advance. When Liomseter lodge is closed, you can use the self-service quarters at Fehytta near Liomseter.
Day 2 Liomseter to Storkvolvbua
Distance: 14,4 km
The day’s leg is from Liomseter to the self-service cabin Storkvolvbua. The trail is in woodland between the mountains Brennfjellet and Fagerlifjellet and past the path intersection to the cabins Langsubua and Haldorbu. On to the north-west along Nonstjørnan tarn to a new route intersection to Langsubua cabin at Storkvolvbekken stream and then up to the cabin.
Day 3 Storkvolvbua to Syntsgardsætra
Distance: 20 km
After a good night’s sleep at Storkvolvbua, you return to the car park at Syntsgardseter. The leg starts with fun skiing down from the cabin to Vestmjøs lake. The trail then continues to the north-east and, after a while, swings south-east towards Storlonen and Nedre Leppvatnet lake. You pass Leppbua cabin and the trail now heads pretty much due south-east to Ongsjøsætran. Turn off the trail towards Liomseter south of Nedre Ongsjøen trail intersection. On to Sildviksætran and the winter car park at Synstgardsæter. The last part of the trail is locally waymarked and is, in part, on prepared tracks.
