Skiing roundtrip in the west of Jotunheimen
One of the best Easter trips in the mountains of Norway? Well, that’s for you to decide. In any case, we can promise you majestic skiing and wonderful accommodation in Norway's most famous mountain ranges.
Day 1 Arrival at Fondsbu
The journey to Fondsbu lodge is flat and a nice gentle start to our mountain adventure. If you want a really comfortable start to your trip, you can take a snow vehicle to Fondsbu lodge. The service is available during much of late winter.
Day 2 Fondsbu to Skogadalsbøen
Distance: 19 km
The trip to Skogadalsbøen lodge is sometimes flat and sometimes steep, but above all wonderful. The day ends down in Uradalen valley as you enter the only forested area on the trip. Just like Fondsbu lodge, Skogadalsbøen lodge is also staffed, meaning you can look forward to a delicious dinner at the end of this leg.
Day 3 Skogadalsbøen to Olavsbu
Distance: 22 km
Head up once again into the bare mountains and the self-service cabin Olavsbu, in the heart of Jotunheimen. The 22-kilometre route is surrounded by majestic mountains and is not an avalanche risk.
Day 4 (5) Olavsbu to Fondsbu
Distance: 17 km
The trip back down to Fondsbu lodge is heavenly, descending almost 400 metres in altitude over 16 kilometres. Once at the lodge, you can either have dinner and spend your last night in the mountains, or take a snow vehicle or ski back to Tyin.
