Dovrefjell is the mountain area between Dovre in the south and Oppdal in the north. Dovrefjell is often considered to be the entire high mountain area in the border areas between Innlandet, Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal. Here you can climb high peaks, go long hut to hut hikes and enjoy beautiful scenery.

In many mountain areas in southern Norway, you can encounter wild reindeer. Both hikers and wild reindeer love to hike, and we often use the same areas. But the wild reindeer are vulnerable to disturbances and need peace. It is therefore important that we pay attention when we are on a trip. SAGA is DNT's long-haul route from Lillehammer to Snøhetta. 220 km over Ringebufjellet, through Rondane and Dovrefjell. All on the Norwegian Trekking Association's marked trails, with accommodation in serviced and self-service cabins.
