Self-catering cabins you can visit all year round

Although most self-service cabins are closed from October 15 to February 15, there are several cabins that are open all year round. During this period, it is quiet and peaceful in the mountains, so we can almost guarantee a unique mountain experience by taking a trip to one of the cabins in the list below.

Storeskag is a good starting point for anyone who wants to enter Langsua from the western areas.

Veslefjellbua on Venabygdsfjellet

Mountainous area: Venabygdsfjellet
Distance to the cabin: 3 km
Beds: 15

New and modern cabin with a great location on Venabygdsfjellet, and a short distance to the cabin.

Brebua at Finse

Mountainous area: Skarvheimen
Distance to the cabin: 500m from the station
Beds: 44

Brebua was completed in 2020. The cabin serves as a self-service cabin when Finsehytta is closed.

Elddåbu

Mountain area: Rondane/Venabygd
Distance to the cabin: 15 km

Cabin built in 1966 and with great skiing terrain right outside the door. How about a day trip into Rondane?

Jammerdalsbu

Mountain area: Ringebufjell
Distance to the cabin: 1 km
Beds: 14

The ski terrain is perhaps Jammerdalsbu's greatest advantage. Gentle mountains, stable snow conditions and relatively calm weather conditions.

Storhøliseter

Mountain area: Langsua

Storhølister is a large mountain farm in the north of Langsua that has a long tradition of welcoming mountain hikers.

Reinheim

Mountainous area: Dovrefjell
Distance to the cabin: 17 km

Reinheim located in Stroplsjødalen was completed in 1961 and is an excellent starting point for trips on Dovrefjell.

Oskampen

Mountainous area: Langsua

From Oskampen you can see straight into Jotunheimen westwards and most of Langsua eastwards and southwards.

The cabin is located high up in Storkvolven with a great view of Langsua, and the opportunities for great ski trips are many.
