Kayak course in Oslo and Akershus - get a våttkort
Our courses follow the Norwegian Paddle Association's (NPF) wet card ladder and are led by approved and skilled instructors. The courses are held at our various course locations in Oslo and Akershus. Below you will find a short introduction to the various courses, more information can be found in the registration.
Introductory course
This is a 3-hour course that usually runs in the afternoons of the week.
Suitable for those who want to take a wet card quickly and plan to paddle in calmer conditions. Gives you a general introduction to equipment, safety, paddling technique and buddy rescue. You cannot climb further on the wet card ladder with an intro course, then you have to move on to a basic course.
Upcoming introductory course in Oslo
Basic course
This is a two-day course that usually takes place on weekends.
The course provides a more thorough introduction to equipment, safety, paddling technique, planning with navigation and understanding of weather conditions. On the course, you learn self-rescue in addition to buddy rescue.
The course is recommended for everyone from beginnersto more experienced as you have more to learn and practice. With a basic course, you can move on the wet card ladder to a technique course and activity leader course. Other rental and tour operators may require a basic course, typically in areas with demanding waters.
