The Food at Sandhaug

We serve meals based on regional ingredients, traditional Norwegian food culture, and products from local suppliers.

Local Sourcing and Traditional Cuisine

DNT collaborates with the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture and Food to promote local food culture at staffed lodges. At Sandhaug, the menu features:

Local Ingredients: Trout caught directly from the lake Nordmannslågen, locally sourced game meat, and fresh eggs from the lodge’s own hens.
Breakfast: Freshly baked bread and a variety of house-made pickled herring.
