The facilitation for dogs at DNT's cabins varies and there are many considerations to take into account for this to work well for everyone. The offer for those who bring a dog is under development, and here is an overview of the offer at DNT Oslo and Omegn's cabins for those who bring a dog.

Dog in self-service cabins
At most of our self-service cabins, it is possible for dogs to sleep indoors in cages. For the sake of allergies, hygiene and possibly other people's relationship with dogs, it is important that you do not bring your dog into other common areas of the cabin, than where it is facilitated.
Pre-order All dog cages in our cabins are now available for pre-booking. If you want your dog to sleep indoors, you must pre-book a dog crate. You need to be aware that your dog may have to spend the night in a room with other dogs.
This is how it is adapted for dogs
Dog room A dog room means a separate heated room where both dog and owner can spend the night. This is usually a room in one of the buildings with its own entrance, but can in some cases be a completely separate cabin where dogs are allowed.
Cage in a separate room Crate in an unheated room that is only available for dogs. Here it is not arranged for the owner to sleep with the dog.
Cages in outbuildings Cages in outbuildings mean cages at the disposal of dogs. This is often together with wood, gas etc. in the fuse cabin/outbuilding. Here it is not arranged for the owner to sleep with the dog and the room is not heated.
No facilitation Here it is not possible to bring dogs indoors. Dogs must spend the night outdoors
General rules
Your dog can only access rooms that are adapted for dogs
You must pre-book a cage for dogs that will be staying indoors
Dogs should not be in beds or other furniture
Bring bedding for the dog if necessary, do not use the cabin's bedding or blankets
The cages should not be moved.

Dogs in serviced cabins
All our serviced cabins are adapted for dogs. Contact the cabins you are going to visit directly to find out if they have capacity for you and your dog.
General rules for serviced cabins:
Always ask the manager about where your dog can be placed.
Your dog is not allowed in the living room, dining room and bedroom.
Most serviced cabins have dog cages in their own rooms.
The placement of the dog will vary based on the size of the individual cabin and the possibility of practical adaptation.

DNT Oslo and Omegn reminds that it is forbidden to leave the dog tied right at the entrance to staffed, self-service and unmanned cabins. Or in another place where people have to pass close to the dog, cf. The Dog Act.
As a guest, you must be aware that the dog may have to spend the night in a cold room with other dogs.
It is important that you as a guest always have control over the dog.
Always follow the rules for leash enforcement, in many mountain areas there are grazing cattle and game that need peace and quiet and the least possible disturbance at all times.
Keep in mind that many guests are allergic to dogs.
Many people are afraid of dogs even if the dog is not aggressive. Therefore, show due consideration for other guests.
