Hiking at Litlos

The 21.5 km trail from Middalsbu is the main summer access route to Litlos, leading you through Vivassdalen and open alpine terrain. Once at the lodge, the surrounding landscape offers several shorter day-trip options, including hikes to nearby fishing lakes or viewpoints, allowing you to explore the western plateau without a heavy backpack.

Note: Valldalsvegen road leading to Middalsbu is closed up to and including week 30. Please monitor the municipality's website for updates and the current status of the road reopening.

Follow these tips when traveling in mountainous areas with wild reindeer:

  • Follow marked trails
  • Stay still if you see wild reindeer, so that they can move away undisturbed
  • Use binoculars and keep your distance
  • Keep dogs on a leash
  • Stay low in the terrain and move in the wind so that the animals do not get the smell from you
  • Keep an eye on the dog and follow the rules on leashing
