Getting to Litlos
Litlos is located in a remote area and can only be reached on foot or on skis.
Road Closure: Valldalsvegen Closed Until End of Week 30
Rock stabilization work on Valldalsvegen began on Wednesday, July 15. The road remains completely closed to both pedestrians and vehicles 24 hours a day. Emergency services are the only exception.
If progress continues as planned, the work is expected to be completed by the end of week 30. However, this timeline is subject to change.
Upcoming closures: The road will close again during daytime hours in week 31 or week 32. Specific dates and times have not yet been determined.
Updates: More information will be published at the end of week 29. Please check this page or the Ullensvang Municipality website for updates before traveling.
Summer Access
Public Transport & Hiking: Take the express bus (from Oslo or Bergen) to Røldal. From Røldal, take a taxi to Valldal and continue along the gravel road to Middalsbu (self-service cabin).
Trail from Middalsbu: The hike from Middalsbu to Litlos is approximately 23 km and takes about 6 hours.
Winter Access
Via Røldal: During Easter, take the express bus (from Oslo or Bergen) to Røldal (Bråstøl). From here, follow the marked winter trail (approx. 33 km) to Litlos.
Via Haukeliseter: Alternatively, follow the marked winter trail from Haukeliseter via Hellevasbu (approx. 20 km to Hellevasbu, then 18 km to Litlos).
