The lodge has 67 beds divided into 2- and 4-person rooms, as well as dedicated rooms for guests traveling with dogs. There are two fully accessible, universally designed bedrooms on the main floor that are wheelchair friendly. When booking, please select "Bed in HC room" (Seng på HC-rom).
Our shower and toilet facilities are located in the hallway outside the rooms, ensuring a comfortable stay for all guests. We strongly recommend reserving your stay in advance through our website.

Discounts for DNT members
It pays to be a member! DNT members receive a discount on both accommodation and meals. If you stay for more than two nights, the savings will easily cover the cost of your membership. At the same time, you support DNT’s work in maintaining trails and facilitating great outdoor experiences.
Traveling with dogs
At Solheimstulen, man's best friend is always welcome! Dogs are permitted in dedicated rooms, which can be reserved by selecting "Dog room" (Hunderom) in the cabin booking system. Please let us know upon arrival if you have a dog with you so we can ensure you are allocated the correct room.
Cancellation policy
Below are the current terms and conditions for bookings, cancellations, and changes at our serviced cabins:
- Free cancellation: All bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 8 days prior to arrival. (Example: A stay starting on a Friday must be cancelled no later than 23:59 on Thursday of the previous week).
- Late cancellations: Cancellations made 0–7 days prior to arrival will be charged in full.
- Please notify the cabin or association as soon as possible if you need to cancel within the 0–7 day window.
Privacy Policy & GDPR
When you book accommodation, we store the following personal information:
- Full name and address
- Email address and telephone number
- Company name (if applicable)
We process and store data about you and your travel party in strict accordance with current GDPR regulations. We also log details regarding your specific bed reservation, the dates of your visit, the total number of guests, and the price categories registered for each person in your group.
Why we store this information:
- Communication: To enable dialogue and send updates regarding your booking.
- Self-Service: To allow you to log in and manage or cancel your stay yourself.
- Convenience: To save your details for future bookings. Next time, simply log in with your phone number and email address, and the remaining fields will auto-fill.
- Safety & Rescue: In the event of a search and rescue operation, we can immediately provide rescue crews with accurate information about who is, or has been, staying at the cabin. Having this digital data readily available—without needing to physically fetch the cabin’s paper guestbook—saves critical time.
