How to Book "Norway across": Packages, Cabins, and the Expedition Pass

How to book "Norway across"
You can purchase the "Norway across" Pass all year round and hike whenever it suits you. If you want to pre-book your accommodation at the cabins along the route, an all-inclusive travel package is available until July 14, 2026. After this date, cabin stays must be booked individually or used on a walk-in (drop-in) basis.

Booking Notice: The "Norway across 2026" package is open for bookings after November 10, 2025.
If you plan to hike "Norway across" between June 24 and September 7, 2026, you can book your entire journey as a single package up until July 14. This package pre-reserves your bed at every cabin along the route and includes full board (meals) at all serviced lodges.
When booking through the official "Norway across" portal, you simply register your start date, which automatically books your first night at Kvitfjellhytta. The system will then automatically reserve your stay at all subsequent cabins along the route, spaced exactly one day apart.
The Registration Card: Used for collecting the trail's official code words and packed with useful information.
Meals and Accommodation: Your registration card and payment receipt cover full room and board at the serviced lodges: Schulzhytta, Storerikvollen, and Nedalshytta.
At the self-service cabins (Kvitfjellhytta, Prestøyhytta, and Ramsjøhytta), lodging is included in the package, while any food consumed from the pantry is paid for on-site.
Package bookings are available for the period from June 24 until the serviced cabins close on September 13, 2026. This means your earliest possible first night at Kvitfjellhytta is June 24, and your latest possible starting date is September 7 (with your final night at Nedalshytta on September 12).
A maximum of 8 package slots are allocated per day for "Norway across."
Booking a package secures you one bed at each cabin for the duration of the trip. At the self-service cabins, rooms or specific beds will be clearly marked for "Norway across" package holders. At serviced lodges, you will be assigned your room/bed at the reception desk upon arrival.
Bus service from Nedalshytta and extra accommodation
This summer, we are making it even easier to complete the full trek from Stjørdal to the Swedish border in the Sylan mountains. In cooperation with AtB, a dedicated bus service has been set up from Nedalshytta to Tydal.
Because the bus departs early in the morning, catching it requires an extra night's stay at Nedalshytta.
Therefore, we offer a heavily discounted rate on an extra night (including room and board) for "Norway across" participants:

The price is the same for children, adolescents and adults.
The discount applies equally to children, youths, and adults. Because the bus departs before regular breakfast hours, a breakfast station is available between 06:10 AM and 06:25 AM where you can pack a breakfast to go. Any thermoses handed in the evening before will be filled up and ready.

Booking individual cabins after July 14, 2026
Once the package window closes on July 14, you can no longer book the all-in-one package. Instead, you must either book your cabin stays individually through our online reservation portal or hike on a walk-in (drop-in) basis.
Instructions: Click the link and enter any two random dates for a single overnight stay. Scroll down the menu and select "NORGE PÅ TVERS, PASS" (ignore options involving cabin bookings or dog crates). Please input just one single available date when ordering; you can choose freely when you actually want to use the pass on the trail.
Registration for the Hall of Fame
The Expedition Pass is your official key to being registered on the "Norway across" roll of honor, receiving your commemorative mug, and earning the right to wear the official T-shirt.
Throughout your journey, you must fill out the pass with the secret registration code words found at each cabin, as well as at the official starting and finishing points. The trek must be completed consecutively as one continuous journey.
The First Code Word: Located on the outside of the DNT Nord-Trøndelag offices at Ole Rises gate 18, Stjørdal.
Claiming Your Prizes: Upon arriving at Nedalshytta, present your completed Expedition Pass to the staff to receive your merchandise.
The Hall of Fame: After your hike, email the Trondhjems Turistforening (TT) office to be officially listed on our website.
If you need to change your dates or cancel your trip, you must cancel the entire package and submit a new booking. If you need to make changes after July 14, you cannot reuse the package solution; you will need to book each cabin individually through our online reservation channels.
Cancellations must be made at least 8 days prior to your scheduled arrival date.
Remember to notify the serviced cabins (Schulzhytta, Storerikvollen and Nedalshytta) by email if you have any kind of food allergy and what day you arrive at them if you are going to visit them during the staffed season.
Bring dogs across Norway
Remember to order a dog cage if you are bringing a dog. You will find it inside where you book a bed. The cabins are differently designed and in some cabins the dog must be able to lie in the woodshed. Price per dog is NOK 640 for the whole trip.
