Our suggestion for a three-day trip to Lysebotn
Day 1: Arrival and Exploration
Getting here: Park your car at Lauvvik, Forsand, or Songesand and take the ferry into Lysebotn. Alternatively, you can take a bus to Lauvvik or Forsand. Be sure to check ferry schedules in advance to plan your travel.
Checking in: Check in to your room. Children often enjoy choosing the color of the building they want to stay in. To do this, show them photos before arrival and send us an email request. We accommodate these choices whenever availability allows.
- There are four colors to choose from: red, blue, purple, and green.
Afternoon activities: Use the afternoon to get to know Lysebotn. Pick up a map for the Energy Trail at reception, download the pole hunting app to see how many of the 35 local poles you can find, or take a walk along the river to the playground.
Dinner and games: Have an early dinner to allow for playtime afterward. If the children are restless while waiting for the food, ask your waiter for a form to start the goldfish scavenger hunt. After dinner, you can play kubb, badminton, croquet, or football outside, or borrow board games to play in our second-floor lounge.
Day 2: The Energy trail and fjord activities
Morning hike: After breakfast (remember to pack a lunch), we recommend starting or continuing along the Energy Trail. There are plenty of activities along the route to keep children engaged. You can bring swimwear to swim in the natural river pools, borrow discs at reception to try the disc golf course in the valley, explore the Kaldahålå cave, or climb the large boulders.
Afternoon relaxation: Back from the hike, you can swim in the river or the fjord, or simply relax in the garden. Children who complete the goldfish hunt can claim an ice cream at reception. There is also a small prize for anyone who finishes the entire Energy Trail.
Evening: Enjoy another early dinner. Afterward, you can try some fishing in the fjord as the sun goes down, or take a short 15-minute walk to the waterfall on the opposite side of the river.
Day 3: Water aports and departure
Morning on the fjord: After breakfast and check-out, you can rent a canoe, SUP board, or pedal boat to enjoy the fjord from the water.
Lunch: Skip the packed lunch today and enjoy a fresh meal in the cabin restaurant instead.
Departure: The afternoon ferry usually departs around 3:00 p.m. If you wish to extend your holiday, we highly recommend taking the boat to nearby Flørli or Bakken Gard for further exploration.
