Getting to Grimsdalshytta

Summer Access

• By Train and Hiking/Taxi: Take the train to Hjerkinn station, followed by a 5-hour hike to the cabin. Alternatively, take the train to Dombås station. Private pickup can be arranged in advance with the hosts, or you can take a local taxi.
• By Car from the West (E6): Leave the E6 highway at Dovre and follow the signs for Grimsdalen (25 km).
• By Car from the East (Østerdalen): Drive to Atndalen and turn off at Fallet, following the signs for Grimsdalshytta.

Note: The final 20 km is a toll road. Ensure you pay the toll fee online before losing mobile network coverage.

Winter Access

• By Car: Drive to Dovre and continue past Bjørkheim as far as the road is plowed (typically up to Eftansåi).
• On Ski: Start from either Hageseter or Hjerkinn and ski to Grimsdalshytta. The ski trip takes approximately 5–6 hours.
