Avalanche courses and ski touring courses
Do you want to get started with ski touring, but feel you lack knowledge and experience? Gain a basic understanding of avalanches, assessment of terrain, the importance of human factors and other factors that affect the avalanche risk.
On the winter, there are smaller boats and disturbances on the fjord.
Even if it's cold outside, a kayaking course can be just the thing. Winter paddling is a different experience where you are often completely alone on the sea or fjord. There are several courses to take from, whether it is canoeing, sea kayaking or technique courses you are most interested in. This could be the start of a new, fresh hobby.
Knowledge of maps and compasses is absolutely necessary when you are going out on a trip in the winter mountains. Mobile phones and GPS have become part of many people's equipment on trips, but if you choose to blindly trust the technology, you can risk standing in the middle of the mountain without knowing where you are or where you are going. Navigating in the winter mountains takes practice, with a map and compass course you become safer.
These are practical courses where the participants themselves will try their hand at lighting a fire, cooking outside, using a primus, map, compass and trip planning. The idea is that after the course, you will be able to go on day trips in the local area and connect the day trips with an overnight stay.

Kiting on snow can provide good speed even on flat terrain, and provides plenty of opportunities for play and fun. Beginners quickly learn to kite back and forth on flat surfaces, and as you get practice, you can practice tricks and build jumps.
We need more tour guides. DNT has its own tour leader education that enables you to lead trips for DNT both in the local area and in the high mountains.
