Camping at DNT cabins
DNT facilitates an inclusive outdoor life and therefore welcomes everyone who wants to camp at our cabins. But there are some rules that apply, both when camping in our serviced cabins and self- and unserviced cabins.
Is it allowed to camp at DNT cabins?
Yes, at all our cabins you are very welcome to set up a tent.
Serviced cabins
If you plan to camp at a serviced DNT cabin, we recommend that you contact the reception before setting up the tent.
At some cabins, there are tent pitches and you pay to set up the tent. At other cabins, there are only rules on how close you can set up a tent.
Self- and unserviced cabins
On a general basis, you should not set up a tent closer than 150 meters from our self- and unserviced cabins. This is out of consideration for overnight guests at the cabin.
Is it necessary to make a reservation?
No, you do not need to reserve a tent site.
Can I use the facilities at the cabin?
Yes, but it varies from staffed and self- and unserviced cabins:
Staffed DNT cabins
If you have paid for a tent site at the cabin, you can shower, use the toilets, dry clothes in the drying room, buy dinner and stock up on provisions.
Do you want dinner?
At most staffed cabins, you can order dinner, but it should be done well in advance of dinner service at the cabin. Contact the reception at the cabin.
Self- and unmanned DNT cabins
Everyone who tents and uses the facilities at the cabin must pay for a day visit to the cabin. You can easily do this with the app DNT Hyttebetaling.
