There is a small threshold to get started, but once you have learned how things work, it is both fun and easy. And then you have dozens of opportunities for exciting and affordable cabin trips in beautiful nature.
Important to know about the cabins
The cabins are locked with a DNT key
A travel companion must be a DNT member
You must pre-book via hyttebestilling.dnt.no
The cabins do not have food storage, but a well-equipped kitchen with a gas burner.
The cabins cost from NOK 65 per night

The cabins are simple and pleasant and most do not have running water and electricity.
This is what you will find at the cabins:
Cozy living room with board games, books and guitar for real cabin coziness
A well-equipped kitchen/kitchenette
Gas burner for cooking
Wood-burning stove for heating
Good beds with duvets and pillows
Outdoor toilet and woodshed
Some of the cabins have a water source nearby
Some of the cabins have canoes and/or fishing rods for loan
🔑 Membership and DNT key
Become a member😍 If you are going to use the o-service cabin cabins, at least one of the hiking party must be a DNT member. You can easily sign up for dnt.no/medlem.
Remember your 🔐 key Almost all cabins* are locked with the DNT standard key, which you get as a DNT member (NOK 100 in deposit). You can pick up the DNT key at the Tursenteret in Oslo, or you can order it in dntbutikken.no.

💸 Booking and prices
Pre-booking is required at all cabins here in the Oslo area and can be booked on hyttebestilling.dnt.no
Member prices for accommodation per day, vary from NOK 65/330 (young/adult) for a bed for the entire cabin by yourself from NOK 550,-. Free for children under 12 years old.
