About DNT

Pre-order

It is mandatory for all guests to book in advance. At most of the forest cabins, there is a booking of single beds, but some are rented out as a unit. You can easily make pre-booking of the forest cabins yourself on this website.

NOTE! You can be held financially responsible in the event of vandalism/destruction and lacking/poor cleaning of the cabins!

Cancellation

  • Cancellation deadline in the forest is 5 days before the day of arrival for a full refund.
  • You can easily make cancellations yourself by logging in to My Page in our booking system.

Before you go on a trip:

  • Reserve a place and prepay for the forest cabins on our website.
  • Remember the key! (NB! Only members have the opportunity to deposit on the key).
    • The standard key fits most self- and unserviced DNT cabins throughout Norway, and all in Marka except Fuglemyrhytta, which has a code. Order DNT key
  • Bed linen or bed linen is mandatory in the beds.
  • You have to bring your own food.
  • Important messages about the cabin/water conditions etc. can be found on UT.no, on each cabin's page.

Rules of well-being when you are at the cabin

  • Rental period: Booked cabins are available from 2 pm on arrival day to 2 pm on departure day (on Gressholmen Starboard and Port from 3 pm to 12 noon, Fuglemyrhytta, Langøyene and Driver's House from 2 pm to 11 am).
NOTE! Fuglemyrhytta, Hovdehytta, Huldreheim and several other cabins are popular day trip destinations, so you must be able to expect a visit from hikers during the day.
  • The cabin protocol is filled in when you arrive at the cabin, even if you have booked in advance.
  • Read the information binder you will find at the cabin.
  • Check the smoke detector on arrival.
  • Use a linen bag or your own bed linen. Sleeping bags are not allowed!
  • Shake the duvet and pillow after use and make the bed.
  • Fire in the oven with reason. The transport of firewood to the cabins is heavy and expensive. The firewood is only intended for use in the stove/fireplace. Lay out kindling wood for the next person before you leave.
  • The cabin's wood storage must not be used for a fire outside.
  • Reduce the risk of fire when using candles. Do not place candles under wall cabinets in kitchens or near curtains. Tealights are not used due to the risk of fire.
  • Dogs have access to Drømmen, Røverhula, Lille Tømtehytta, Røyrivannskoia, Jørgenhytta, Sandbekkhytta and Vikkelihytta.
  • There must be quiet between 23:00 and 06:00.
  • The smoke detector must be connected during the entire stay.
  • Smoking is only allowedt outdoors. Help keep it nice outside the cabin and throw the cigarette butts in the oven.

On departure

  • The cabin is cleaned before departure.
  • All rooms that have been in use are cleaned. This also applies to the toilet.
  • Make sure that all water is emptied out, all windows closed and all utensils taken in.
  • Check that the woodshed is locked.
  • Food leftovers and rubbish (including empty bottles) must be taken home. Food scraps attract mice.
  • Day visitors have access to the outdoor areas by the cabin.
    • Day tourists pay for their stay if they use the cabin for cooking or fire up the oven. Day tourists leave the cabin by 6 p.m. if overnight guests have arrived. Day visits are valid until 6 pm, and in case of later use, payment is made as for accommodation.
  • Cabin book: feel free to tell us about your hiking experiences.
