Saltfjellet is in the heart of Saltfjellet-Svartisen National Park, and the Arctic Circle crosses through this area. You can walk in the valley and enjoy views of beautiful mountains on the sides, both summer and winter. Walk from cabin to cabin or take day trips from several of the DNT cabins. Be aware that there is no winter marking and the days are short in winter with little daylight. There is a great ski season in the mountains from March to about June.
