Activities you can do in Lysebotn
Many people come to Lysebotn to go to Kjerag, but there is so much more you can do here. How about combining the great trip into the valley, with a round of frisbee golf? Or go pole hunting or goldfish hunting, fishing, swimming, paddling, cycling or looking for crabs at the water's edge.
Goldfish hunting
When street artist Renate Hermansen painted beautiful pictures at the tourist cabin, she also painted many goldfish. Any child who wants to can go goldfish hunting, and the prize is a small ice cream.
Frisbee golf
In June 2022, Lysebotn disc golf was officially opened. It is one of Norway's finest courses, has 18 curves and follows the trip over Hjørungsletta/Moen along the river on both sides. There is a parking lot right at the starting point, but it is also quite possible to walk from the tourist cabin. You can bring your own counters, or rent or buy from us. It costs NOK 25 per person to play a round, and payment is made with Vipps.
Canoe/kayak/sup
SBK Base, is the place where base jumpers, who come to Lysebotn to jump, must register. SBK Base runs buses to/from Øygardstøl and to Songedalen/Nilsebu. They also rent out canoes, kayaks, SUPs, pedal boats and fishing equipment, among other things. In addition, they rent out electric bikes, so you can explore the roads into the mountain mt Nilsebu or Songedalen, or up the turns to Øygardstøl.

Fishing
In the Lyseelva river, it is possible to fish for salmon and trout in the summer. You must have a fishing license, and these are sold at the reception with us, or at a sports shop in Sandnes. It is allowed to fish in the fjord without a fishing license, but be sure to check the rules for where you can stand. For example, the pier is ok, but there are rules for fishing in the estuary in the transition between the river and the fjord. Fishing equipment can be rented at SBK Base.
Pole hunting
For the second year in a row, you can go pole hunting in Lysbotn. The hunt in Lysebotn is called Expedition Lysebotn, and gives much more points than many other places. 35 poles are placed around Lysebotn, and to manage them all, you have to climb Jenafjellet.
