Terms and Conditions for Repairs
Thank you for choosing to repair! Our goal is to extend the lifespan of clothing and gear—within the natural limitations of the materials. Below you will find the terms and conditions that apply when you submit a product for repair to DNT ReTuren.
Cleaning and Preparation
All products must be clean and dry upon drop-off. Dirt, sand, pet hair, or similar debris can damage our sewing machines and workshop equipment. If a product has not been sufficiently cleaned, and this requires extra handling or cleaning before a repair can be safely carried out, the customer may be charged an additional fee of up to NOK 1,000. Any such additional fee will be agreed upon before work begins.
About the Service
ReTuren performs clothing and gear repairs as a craft service. The work is carried out professionally and as close to the agreed-upon result as possible. The condition of the material, wear and tear, and previous repairs can affect both the final result and how long the repair lasts. This applies particularly to the repair of garments requiring seam-taping, where we utilize high heat and pressure. This process may cause existing adhesive residue in the garment to melt and become visible along the edges of the new tape.
Upon drop-off, the customer consents to the following:
- The repair may result in visible changes, such as patches, color variations, and new seams.
- The final result may deviate from the original appearance.
- We cannot guarantee that the repair will restore the product to the same strength or lifespan as a new product.
Complaints Regarding the Repair
If the repair is defective or has not been performed professionally, the customer may lodge a complaint in accordance with the Norwegian Crafts Services Act (Håndverkertjenesteloven). Complaints must be made within a reasonable time after the defect is discovered. In the case of a justified complaint, ReTuren will offer to rectify the issue free of charge.
Limitation of Liability
- We are not liable for hidden weaknesses or material defects that were not visible upon drop-off, nor for any faults in the garment other than what was agreed to be repaired.
- We are not liable for wear and tear or damage that occurs through normal use after the repair.
- We do not compensate for indirect losses, such as a missed trip, canceled events, or other consequential costs.
- If the product is damaged or destroyed as a result of an error on our part, we are liable in accordance with the Crafts Services Act. Compensation will generally correspond to the market value of the product at the time of damage, with deductions made for age and wear.
- While the product is in our care, we are responsible for its safe storage. In the event of loss or damage caused by circumstances on our part, the product’s market value will be compensated, with deductions for age and wear. We are not liable for loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond our control that we could not reasonably foresee or prevent, including fire, natural events, burglary, water damage, or other extraordinary occurrences.
Unclaimed Items
- Once the repair is complete, the customer will be notified.
- Products that are not collected within 1 month may be subject to a storage fee of NOK 200.
- Products that are not collected within 3 months after notice has been given may be discarded or disposed of to cover costs, in line with applicable regulations. The customer will be notified before this takes place.
- Storage of Personal Data
- In order for us to receive and process your repair order at ReTuren, we need to collect and process some of your personal data. Below is a simple overview of what we store, why we do it, and what your rights are.
What data we collect
We only store data that is necessary to perform the service:
- Name
- Contact information
- Information about the submitted product and order
- What the data is used for
The data is used to:
- Register and manage the order
- Contact you when the product is ready or if we need clarifications
- Send you a voluntary evaluation after the repair is completed
- Sharing of information
We do not share your personal data with others unless it is necessary to carry out the repair. This may apply, for example, to partners who perform parts of the work. We never share information with unauthorized parties or for marketing purposes.
Retention period
We only store your personal data for as long as necessary to:
Complete the repair
Fulfill statutory requirements (such as accounting regulations)
Following this, the data will be deleted or anonymized.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the data we hold about you
- Request the correction of errors or omissions
- Request deletion when the data is no longer necessary
Inquiries will be answered within 30 days. If data must be retained due to legal requirements, you will be notified.
Consent
By submitting an order, you consent to ReTuren storing and processing your personal data in accordance with these terms. You will be required to check a box in the order form to confirm that you accept our terms and conditions.
