Leave no trace principles
There's room for everyone in nature. We want to encourage outdoor recreation, while protecting nature and ensuring everyone's safety. To achieve this, everyone must practice responsible outdoor ethics!
1. Take all waste home with you
Leave only footprints on your hike. Pick up litter you encounter along the way.
2. Practice Proper Backcountry Sanitation
Dig a cathole 15-20 cm deep and cover it after use. Pack out toilet paper in a waste bag. Keep your distance from paths, picnic areas and streams.
3. Show consideration for the locals
Respect the privacy of cabins and homes. Park and camp responsibly. Read more about the right to roam.
4. Remember the bonfire ban and show bonfire sense
Open fires are banned from April 15 to September 15. Here are the things you should think about before making a fire.
5. Show respect for animal and bird life
Wildlife is sensitive to disturbance. Keep your distance, close gates, and observe seasonal restrictions for the area you are in.
6. Show consideration for others
