Find a cabin that suits your holiday

DNT has over 590 cabins throughout the country. The cabins are with or without staff. At the serviced cabins you can get full board. At the self-service cabins, you can buy food in the provisioning warehouse that you prepare yourself, while at the unmanned cabins, you bring the food yourself. The DNT key is a member benefit that gives access to self- and unserviced cabins. Membership gives a discount on all cabins.

Vollasetra in Trollheimen
Vollasetra is a beautiful farm farm located above Vollan Farm in Sunndal. The location makes Vollasetra a great place to start trips into Trollheimen, and to the iconic Ekkertinden. You can get here by bus to Gjøra followed by a short but steep path up to the cabin. Open all year round.

Hallingskeid in Skarvheimen
Hallingskeid tourist cabin is located in an open high mountain terrain suitable for visits in all seasons. There are many hiking opportunities in the area, both on foot, bike and skiing, with opportunities for both fishing and swimming. Here you can get straight to the door with the Bergen Railway to Hallingskeid Station. Open all year round.

Flørli Tourist Station in the Lysefjord
The charming tourist cabin Flørli Tourist Station is located in the very cozy and roadless village in the middle of the Lysefjord. With a short distance to the world-famous Flørli stairs, easy access from the ferry pier and its own playroom, this is the cabin you can easily take the whole family to.

The woman in Sirdal
Kvinen is located on the border between Sirdals- and Setesdalsheiene, in the far north of Kvifjorden. The location is sheltered in the mountain birch forest, just below the tree line. Built on the site of historic Kvinen Tourist Station, the modern cabins at Kvinen have one foot in the past, and one foot in the future. The resilient architecture and modern interior differ from most other tourist cabins in Setesdalsheiene.
The most common is to get to Kvinen fra Donsen in Sirdal. This is a short trip, 2-3 hours.

Græslihytta in Tydal
Græslihytta is located under the forest border, high and free with a wide view of Tydalen and towards Hyllingen, Blåhammaren and Bringen on the other side of the valley. The road here involves a bus to Gressli in Tydal and a short, but steeply marked path to the cabin. Open all year round.

Lønsstua on Saltfjellet
Lønsstua is the gateway to the mountain adventure on Saltfjellet with first-class hiking terrain in the area. You can get here by train to Lønsdal station, which is a short walk from the cabin. Open all year round.

Come to the set table in a serviced cabin

At DNT's serviced cabins in the mountains, you can get all meals served, and enjoy local food and the service of the friendly hosts. Feel free to stay at the cabin for several days to take life easy and explore the surroundings on day trips, or go from cabin to cabin and experience the mountains!

Gjendebu in Jotunheimen
Gjendebu is beautifully located at the innermost end of Gjende, right in the heart of Jotunheimen. It is DNT's oldest tourist cabin, built in 1871. At 990 meters above sea level, the cabin is located at the intersection of high mountains and birch forests, with the evergreen Gjendevatnet lake just below. You reach Gjendebu by taking the bus to Gjendesheim bus stop, and the beautiful boat journey across Gjende with the Gjende boat onwards.
From Gjendesheim you can, among other things, walk the spectacular Besseggen or its little brother, Knutshøe. You can easily get here by bus to Gjendesheim bus stop.

Sota Sæter in Breheimen
Warm and idyllic, Sota Sæter is located in Breheimen with many good hiking opportunities. The area is characterized by strong contrasts between lush and green valleys, barren high mountain nature and glaciers. It offers good food traditions, a sauna and nature and cultural trails for the whole family.

Some days there is a bus all the way to the cabin, otherwise there is a taxi from Dønfoss.
Geiterygghytta in Skarvheimen
Geiterygghytta is located at an altitude of 1224 meters in the middle of Skarvheimen, the mountain area between Hardangervidda and Jotunheimen. The nature is magnificent, wild and beautiful. DNT has a very well-developed grid in the area. Daily bus throughout the summer, which corresponds with trains from Oslo and Bergen.

Haukeliseter in Ryfylkeheiene
The mountain cabin is idyllically located with Hardangervidda to the north and Ryfylkeheiene and Setesdalsheiene to the south. The mountain lodge offers both simple and more advanced accommodation options and is the starting point for endless hiking opportunities. Haukeliekspressen takes you straight to the door of Haukeliseter Fjellstue.

Gjevilvasshytta in Trollheimen
Gjevilvasshytta is located 710 meters above sea level southeast in Trollheimen and is a natural starting point for trips in this magical fairytale kingdom in summer and winter. The cabin is one of the gateways to Trollheimen and is majestically located like a royal estate on the hillside above Gjevilvatnet. With line 580 you can travel to Gjevilvasshytta from Oppdal, an excellent starting point to experience the best of Trollheimen or a quiet walk in Gjevilvassdalen.

Mature on Hardangervidda
Mogen Turisthytte is magnificently located at the west end of Lake Møsvatn. The place has long traditions as a gateway to Hardangervidda itself and is one of the plateau's oldest tourist cabins. Many people choose Mogen as a base for great walks in the area. Here there are opportunities for short trips, longer trips, summit trips and fishing trips. A boat on Lake Møsvatnet, Fjellvåken, takes you to Mogen Turisthytte. The trip takes just over 1 hour. From where the boat stops to Mogen, it is about 4 kilometers to walk. Bus stop at Skinnarbu.

Experience the coast with DNT

DNT is more than cabins in the mountains. Holidays along the Norwegian coast offer archipelago idyll, salt spray in the hair, swimming, warm rocks, good paddle strokes and walks along the shore.
The coastline in Norway is the second longest in the world after Canada, and as many as 70 percent of us live in coastal areas. This opens up for diverse hiking opportunities.

Gressholmen Port and Stybord in the Oslo Fjord
The DNT cabins Babord and Stybord on Gressholmen are idyllically located in the inner Oslofjord. From Gressholmen you have a fantastic view out over the fjord and towards large parts of Oslo and the countryside. Portbord is called rented in its entirety, and the neighboring cabin Styrbord is an unmanned DNT cabin with bed reservations.

Tømmerstø in Southern Norway
Tømmerstø is located in pleasant surroundings by the sea in Kristiansand's eastern area. Here there are many nice hiking trails, swimming opportunities and boat transport to the islands in the Kristiansand archipelago. There is also the possibility of kayak rental.

The Tangled Cabins in Sveio
Flokehyttene consists of five cabins at the far end of the headland Ryvarden in Sveio. The cabins are clinging to the rock crevices as if they are waiting for the next wave. Inside the cabins, you can sit in warm, safe surroundings and experience the ocean through large panoramic windows.

Cheeks in Sunnfjord
Furthest west in the sea at Florø you will find the island of Kinn and the DNT cabin of the same name. Here you can experience both the medieval church, Kinnaspelet and nice hiking and paddling opportunities. You can get to Kinn by scheduled boat from Florø. From here it is 1 km to walk along a good gravel road. Open all year round.

Round lighthouse in Sunnmøre
Runde lighthouse can be found at Kvalneset on the northwest tip of the famous bird island Runde. The island is home to around 500,000 birds, and the lighthouse buildings on the site are protected according to the Cultural Heritage Act.The cabin is self-service and has as many as 24 beds. From the bus stop at Goksøyr, follow the marked path to the lighthouse.

Gælentunet near Bodø
Gælentunet is a cozy coastal cabin near Bodø city. The facility consists of four cabins, a few outbuildings, a boathouse and two boats, and has the country's lowest located tourist association cabin, Egnarbua, two meters above the flood level.

Try your hand at a long trip

Treat yourself to a spectacular hiking experience, and try a long hut-to-hut hike in the mountains. We promise total relaxation at one with nature. Signature Stølsheimen
Experience this beautiful, lovely, magnificent and rugged area that alternates between cultural landscape and high mountain terrain. Paths wind down through birch groves and up steep rock formations with rich natural qualities. Welcome to Stølsheimen, its past and present, from farm life to tourist cabins. The trip from Mo to Voss is a 9-10 day trip with accommodation at Bergen and Hordaland Turlag and Voss Utferdslag's cabins
Bus to Mo or train to Voss. If you come from the east, you can take the train to Dale. From Dale station you can take bus 923 to the center of Mo.

The Golden Route in the Etne Mountains
The trip from Seljestad to Olalia is a six-day trip, and accommodation along the way takes place at the beautiful cabins in the Etne and Sauda mountains. The trip takes place in an area that alternates between beautiful and exciting high mountain terrain and paths that wind down and up through birch groves. There is a good view during large parts of the trip, to the north Folgefonna shows itself in its grandeur. Along the way, you will find swimming pools with fresh running water. The Haukeliekspressen runs from Haugesund and Oslo. You can get on in Aksdal if you come with the Coastal Bus from Stavanger, and it also corresponds with the bus from Bergen.

The Fjord Route in Nordmøre
The fjord route starts at Kvernberget Airport outside Kristiansund, and stretches 150 kilometers around the Vinjefjord to Halsa in Nordmøre. Here you can experience everything - both mountains and fjords, forest and sea, great fishing lakes, fantastic views, great self-service cabins, summit hikes and short day trips. From the airport, follow the signs that lead you to Seivika ferry quay. From here, you take the ferry over to Tømmervåg on the island of Tustna, before continuing on the route network that goes through 5 municipalities and past 12 spacious and well-equipped cabins.

Telegraph route in Nordland
The Telegraph Route is a beautiful and easy hiking route that follows the disused telegraph line over Saltfjellet, through Saltfjellet-Svartisen National Park. As a hike, the Telegraph Route is about six miles long, in nice and easy mountain terrain in the summer.

We are lucky in Norway, most people have access to nature experiences just around the corner from where we live. Use the summer to explore the local nature! The new DNT cabin Skjennungsvolden is idyllically located in Nordmarka with a beautiful view of Skjennungen. The cabin is easily accessible from Frongerseteren Metro station and is perfect for families with children who want a few days on a cabin trip in Nordmarka. 5 km to walk on a forest road from Frognerseteren Metro.

Nordvikgården near Haugesund
On the island of Utsira outside Haugesund lies Nordvikgården. On the island there are nice hiking and cycling opportunities, as well as a bathing jetty and swimming pool for those who want to swim. You can get here by scheduled boat from Haugesund. Open all year round.

Mule Varde near Porsgrunn
Mule Varde is a coastal trail cabin by the beautiful Eidangerfjord, which is run by DNT Telemark on behalf of Porsgrunn municipality. The tourist cabin is one of several buildings on the old stately country house Mule Varde. Bus (lines M2 and M3) from Porsgrunn railway station to Skjelsvik, stop Mule. From here it is a short walking distance, about 200 meters, to the cabin.

Bjørnhaugen near Harstad
Bjørnhaugen is located by county road 14 in an attractive and widely used outdoor area. This is a fantastic hiking area. The terrain around the cabin is excellent for families with small children for smaller excursions.
