How do I become a member?
Sign up quickly and easily on the member pages on dnt.no. If you choose to pay by card or Vipps, you will receive a valid membership certificate immediately. It is also possible to buy membership from your local member association.
What does it cost to join DNT?
You can find an overview of membership categories and prices here: Types of membership
How long does the membership last?
Membership follows the calendar year, and is valid from 1 January to 31 December. The price of membership is the same throughout the year. After 1 November, membership sales will start for the following year.
What do I get as a member of DNT?

Does DNT have a family membership?
A family living at a common address, with a maximum of two adults over the age of 25 and a free number of children/family members under the age of 26, can be part of a family. You pay one invoice, but get your own membership numbers and digital membership card for each member. Remember to register EVERYONE who will belong to the family membership with their name and date of birth. Read more here: Family membership
Can a membership be transferred to another person?
No. The membership is personal and cannot be transferred to another person. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Can I be a member when I live abroad?
Indeed! If you also want to receive Fjell & Vidde and the yearbook, there will be a postage surcharge of 150NOK per year.
How can I give a membership as a gift?
If you want to give away membership as a gift, you can order it here.

How can I renew a previous membership?
If you have been a member before, you can renew your membership by logging in to medlem.dnt.no, with your mobile number or email. You will then keep your old membership number.
Why don't I become a member in the right membership category, even though I am within the age limit?
The membership category is determined based on your age at the end of the current membership year. For example, if you turn 26 during the year, you will become the main member, even if you are 25 years old when you join.
How do I change my membership type?

Payment of membership
Frequently asked questions and answers about paying for your membership in DNT
When will I receive an invoice for renewing my membership in DNT?
An invoice for the next annual membership fee is sent out to members in the period November-December of the year before the current membership year.
How do I renew my membership fee this year?
If you have set up AvtaleGiro or eFaktura, you will receive payment information directly in your online bank. You can also pay for your membership on My page.
Can I create a direct debit/e-invoice?
Yes. If you use online banking, you can choose to receive AvtaleGiro or eFaktura from us. You do the registration yourself in your online bank when you pay the membership fee. From next year, you will then receive the annual membership fee directly in your online bank.
How do I cancel AvtaleGiro or eFaktura?
You terminate (delete) the agreement in your own online bank.
How do I see if I've paid for my membership?
You can find information about the status of your membership if you log in to My Page or in the app for digital membership certificate ("DNT member"). If you have paid this year's membership fee, it says "Member" in green next to your name.

How do I report a change of address, mobile number or e-mail registered with DNT?
You change your address, mobile number and e-mail via My page. If you need help, please contact us.
How do I change my name or date of birth registered with DNT?
If you have a new name or have incorrectly registered your date of birth, you must contact us for a change.
How can I get information from DNT by e-mail/SMS?
You can receive newsletters (and other information) from DNT if you have given your consent to this. You can change your consents on My Page.
How can I become a member of another local membership association?
If you want membership in an association other than the one you normally apply to, you must contact us.
Where can I find my membership number?
You can find your membership number on My Page or in the app for digital membership certificate ("DNT member").

If you want to unsubscribe, you do this on My page.
I'm unsubscribed, but still get a giro and/or magazine. Why?
The resignation and the sending out of the magazine may have crossed each other. This means that the process of sending out giros/magazines was already underway when we received the resignation. Normally, you will receive Fjell & Vidde for the rest of the year you have paid for.

Why don't I get Fjell & Vidde?
Check that the box for Mountains and Plateaus is ticked on My Page. You can change this yourself, as well as whether you want to receive the yearbook. Also make sure that you are registered with the correct address, and that your mailbox is clearly marked.
How do I cancel Fjell & Vidde?
You can cancel Fjell & Vidde if you log in to My Page, and untick the box to receive the membership magazine.
Can I read Fjell & Vidde digitally?
Yes, you can read both Fjell & Vidde and the yearbook digitally if you are logged in to My page. Under the heading "Shortcuts" and the link to "Publications" you will find a rich archive of previous magazines dating back to 2005.
