Holsbru café
Holsbru is the most important gateway to Langsua National Park and the mountain café has been run here for many years. It is now DNT and the manager at Liomseter who run the café.
Opening hours
Opening hours at Holsbru café correspond to opening hours at Liomseter tourist cabin. In the summer of 2025, the café will be open from 23 June to 7 September. Open every day from June 23rd to August 17th. After the end of the school holidays, open only on weekends.
Local food and hiking equipment
Holsbru has been an institution among the local population for a long time. We have a cozy fireplace lounge with approx. 24 seats and plenty of seating outside. It serves local goat sausages, homemade stew and sour cream porridge, freshly baked waffles, ice cream and other goodies.
It is also possible to buy local cheeses from Ystelyst Håndverksysteri, a selection of DNT products (e.g. DNT key), fishing license, some fishing equipment and worms.
Information about hiking opportunities
There are good hiking opportunities in the area and Gausdal Mountain Board has marked several short round trips starting from Holsbru. On hot summer days, it can be refreshing with a dip in Dokkelva (swimming area approx. 800m from the café), or how about a trip to Norway's former smallest national park, Ormtjernkampen?
Accommodation
There is no accommodation at Holsbru, so if you want to stay overnight in the area, you can continue 22 km along the road to Liomseter.
Hosts and contact information
Holsbru café is run by hosts at Liomseter tourist cabin.
