Accessible Group Hikes with DNT
Do you need a little extra support to get outdoors? Then an accessible group hike with DNT might be just for you! DNT Tilrettelagt (Accessible Outdoors) works to make nature and outdoor recreation available to people with disabilities. We organize trips and activities, and work continuously to improve the physical accessibility of our cabins and lodges.
DNT Tilrettelagt offers many different types of trips and activities—including day hikes, evening walks, and overnight stays, both close to urban areas and high up in the mountains.
Perhaps you have already heard of "Klart det går", "FTU", or our specialized hikes for the visually impaired? All of these activities are organized by DNT's local associations and hiking clubs, and the exact programs vary from place to place. As a rule, these trips are open to participants from all over the country.
Please get in touch with the specific event organizer to learn more about a hike and how you can join!
Our Programs Under the DNT Tilrettelagt Umbrella:
Klart det går ("Of Course You Can!"):
These are accessible trips tailored for adults with physical disabilities. We invite you to join us for hikes in local neighborhoods, by the sea, and in the mountains. What all these trips have in common is that they are perfectly suited for anyone who cannot, or prefers not to, walk very fast or far. The social aspect is highly emphasized!
FTU (Accessible Outdoors for People with Intellectual Disabilities):
This is a low-threshold program tailored for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all ages, as well as their families and support networks.
Other Tailored Activities:
There are many other initiatives hosted under our accessibility umbrella. In our main activity calendar, relevant events are explicitly tagged as suitable for individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.
