If you have four to five days at your disposal, and want to experience Norway's first national park, you should try this classic round trip through Rondane. The trip takes you around Rondane's largest connected mountain section separated by Rondvatnet, Illmanndalen and Langglupdalen.

5 day cabin trip through Rondane

The classic from Hjerkinn to Mysuseter goes through most of the habitats in Rondane. Through lush valleys, rocks and scree, with a view of the characteristic, round roundabouts.

Long trip from Rondvassbu in Rondane to Snøheim in Dovre

Duration: 6 days

This is a long but spectacular hike that takes you from Rondane National Park to Dovre. The trip ends with a trip up to Snøhetta where a fantastic view awaits. 

Rondane from north to south

Walk from Hjerkinn and approach Rondane's great peaks day by day, including through Dørålglupen, called by many "The Gate to Rondane". Then the trip continues among the majestic peaks and out on the other side, down towards soft paths at Ringebu.

Rondvassbu to Bjørnhollia via Rondeslottet

Rondane's highest peak provides a great view of the Rondane massif. The summit is relatively easy to access for most people from Rondvassbu, but it is also possible to hike to the top from Bjørnhollia. If you are extra fit, and fancy a long trip, you can walk from Rondvassbu, over the top, down to Langglupdalen and on to Bjørnhollia - or vice versa.
