Rooms
We offer a variety of room types to suit most mountain hikers, with options ranging from 2 to 6 beds. In fact, Liomseter is one of the few staffed DNT Oslo og Omegn lodges without dormitories.
Liomseter has several 2-bed rooms and one double room. All family rooms include a double bed and single beds. The largest room, the hearth room in Eldhuset, has 6 beds and plenty of space.
All rooms, except the double room, have bunk beds or beds at different height levels.
There is electric lighting (also at night) and charging facilities in all rooms in both the main lodge and the Konebua annex.
Most rooms are located on the second floor of the main lodge. Toilets, showers, and a drying room are found on the basement level.
Families with children
Liomseter is a great destination for families with children. A made-up baby cot for children under 3 can be booked free of charge along with your stay. We also have a few high chairs in the dining room and a changing table available.
In winter, kids can borrow sleds for fun in the snow. In summer, we offer fishing rods, binoculars, magnifying glasses, and Turbingo (a fun outdoor bingo activity). A canoe is also available for use, along with life vests in various sizes.
In the lounge, you'll find a great selection of board games for rainy days and a well-stocked mountain library, including children’s books.
Dogs at the lodge
A few rooms in Eldhuset and the Konebua annex are specially set up for dogs and their owners. We recommend booking a dog-friendly room in advance. If online booking shows no availability, please contact us directly and we’ll find a solution.
Eldhuset dog room: 3 beds - ideal for solo hikers, couples, or small families with a dog.
Konebua annex: living room plus two adjoining bedrooms (6 beds total) - perfect for larger families or groups traveling with a dog.
To ensure everyone’s comfort, we limit one dog per room or cabin, even if more dogs are in your party. If all dog-friendly rooms are booked, dogs may sleep in the woodshed. The parking area is nearby, so you may also choose to leave your dog safely in your vehicle.
Please note:
- Leash requirement in the area from April 1 to October 1.
- Dogs are not allowed in shared indoor spaces or lounges.
Camping in a tent
Liomseter offers great opportunities for tent camping. There’s a spacious green area with benches, located close to the main lodge with access to showers, toilets, and a drying room.
If you wish to camp in a tent at Liomseter, please check in at the reception and pay the camping fee. This gives you full access to all sanitary facilities, the drying room, and common areas.
For those who want to sleep under the stars but still enjoy the comfort of a 3-course dinner, breakfast, packed lunch, and a filled thermos, we’re happy to welcome you.
Feel free to email us in advance if you plan to camp and would like to dine with us.

There is a dedicated parking area for camper vans just across the road from Liomseter.
