Tailwind - The mountain road to the Aurlandsdalen valley
Would you like to walk one of DNT's concept routes? Then Medvind is the turn to go. The route is easily accessible and feasible for most people. The mountain road to the Aurlandsdalen valley offers nature experiences with great contrasts, from barren rocky landscapes to lush deep valleys, from mighty mountains to roaring rapids.
Aurlandsdalen
The Aurlandsdalen valley can take your breath away, with the extreme wildness of the river digging its way through the landscape, and the fantastic view out towards the fjord far below. Here, Eastern Norway and Vestland meet in a beautiful mountain area.
Tailwind is the trip for both the beginner, and the experienced ring fox.
What is Medvind - the mountain road to Aurlandsdalen
The trip is among the most beautiful we have in Norway and DNT wants with the tour concept to show the entire Fjellveien down to the Aurlandsdalen valley. This route is the most accessible and least demanding of the concept routes, but is still demanding enough - but in return it has a clear climb through the three stages of nature experiences🌄
This trip gives you good support to complete a longer mountain hike or concept routes - you simply have a tailwind.
