How to book accommodation at DNT cabins

Accomodation cannot always be booked in advance, but everyone who comes to a cabin will have a place to sleep, either in a bunk or on a mattress on the floor.  

You do not need to book accomodation before you come to a cabin, just make sure that the cabin is open. Opening times can be found at UT.no. However, if you are staying at a staffed cabin for two days or more, it is advisable to book in advance. 

The DNT Key

Standard DNT key for the closed self-serviced and no-serviced DNT cabins. You need to be a Den Norske Turistforening-member to get the key. There is a NOK 100 deposit for the key. Be aware that some cabins in the DNT system are locked with a special key – check this before you leave for the mountains at Ut.no.

Please note that shipments abroad in average takes 12-16 days. If a key is needed urgently, please contact us on info@dntbutikken.no or check here for an overview of Where to get the key. In addition, all staffed DNT-lodges are instructed to always have keys available.

How to book

1. Go to our booking site hyttebestilling.dnt.no
2. Choose language
3. Search for cabin name or area, enter date and number of guests, and you will get cabins with available capacity. 

You book one cabin at a time. If you are visiting several cabins, you must complete your booking at the first cabin before booking the next one. Many of the cabins also have some beds that are reserved for drop-in guests.

There are still some of the DNT cabins that cannot be booked. These cabins have more information on the individual cabin's website on UT.no.
