10 tips for autumn holiday activities in Oslo
Soon it's autumn vacation - a great opportunity for outdoor life! Here in the Oslo area, you can join DNT on trips and activities, spend the night in a hover tent, rent a kayak or go hiking on your own. Our 10 outdoor life tips actually contain a lot more tips:
🍁 Tip1 - Autumn holiday day and outdoor play
The Children's Hiking Team arranges several trips and activities in week 40. Here, children and adults can join tour guides on exciting and fun activities.
🧸 Tip 2 - Cuddly teddy bear trips with the Children's Hiking Team
The teddy bears will also join in on play and fun outdoors. During the autumn holidays, two trips are arranged where the children can take their favorite teddy bears out for a walk.
🏡 Tip 3 - Cabin trip to an unmanned forest cabin
What could be better for body and soul than a cabin trip in the woods! It is approaching the autumn holidays and time to experience the play of colours in the field. Book yourself an autumn adventure!

🍕Tip 4 - Visit Kobberhaughytta
At this beautiful, serviced cabin in the middle of Nordmarka, the café is open Friday and Saturday with fresh cinnamon buns and freshly baked waffles. On Tuesday in week 40, you can also join a pizza night.

🏖️ Tip 5 - Join a kayak trip or course
In week 40, we arrange several trips, courses and dark paddling. Join us out on the fjord and enjoy the fresh autumn air.
During the autumn holidays, we have, among other things:

- Basic course
📖 Tip 6 - Autumn festival and bonfire at the Norwegian Folk Museum
The Norwegian Folk Museum invites you to the Autumn Festival! Here you can join a tractor race, fun folk dance course, pony rides for the little ones, potato races, bingo, quiz - and pick up a potato or two! You can also visit the DNT cabin that is located at the museum and say hello to our nice cabin hosts who are in place during the autumn holidays.

The museum is open from Saturday 28 Sept - 6 October from 11 am to 4 pm.

🏠 Tip 7 - Visit Breivoll farm
Pleasant Breivoll is located almost at the heart of Bunnefjord and the Farm Café is open Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.You will find the café in the white cozy house in the yard. On the menu is fresh pastries such as the famous skillingsboller, baguette, toast and waffles.

Rent a kayak
Breivoll Gård has a great, almost new kayak facility. You book online or come during the café's opening hours and rent if there is a kayak available.

Spend the night at Breivoll
If you want to stay overnight, it is still possible both in the cabin, which has room for a family of four people, and in the sleeping house (Låven), if you are a larger group. Accommodation in the barn is always with full board; breakfast, dinner and lunch, as well as lunch.

🧗 ♂️ Tip 8 - Bouldering at Friluftshuset
The bouldering room at Frilufshuset at Sørenga is open every day from 10:00-17:00 (open until 19:00 on Tuesdays).
🤔 What is bouldering?
Bouldering is climbing on low walls without ropes - if you fall, you land on huge, soft chunks. If you are new to bouldering, this is an easy activity to get into that continues to offer new challenges even if you are already practiced in it. It requires nothing more than clothes you can move in and climbing shoes, these can be rented from us if you do not already have them. A fun activity for everyone!
🤩 Tip 9 - Visit Sæteren farm
At the serviced cabin Sæteren Gård in idyllic Bærumsmarka, everything is in place for both children and adults to have a nice hiking day!
The café is open every day: Monday to Friday 11 am - 2 pm and 11 am - 4 pm on weekends. Stop by for waffles, coffee, cocoa and lots of other goodies!

Spend the night at Sæteren Gård
There is still something available at the small cabins if you want a short-distance cabin trip.
Activities
Sæteren Gård is idyllically located in Bærumsmarka and everything is in place for both children and adults to have a nice hiking day.Here you will find an exciting obstacle course in the trees, a willow maze (tip: bring a headlamp for an extra fun experience when darkness falls), stilts, volleyball net, football goal, sandbox for the little ones, lookout tower, adventure trail etc.
🥾 Tip 10 - Join us on a trip
Throughout the autumn holidays, you can join a number of different trips, activities and events. In our activity calendar you get a full overview of everything that happens in week 40.
