Glacier hike

Summer is the ideal time to explore the Hardangerjøkulen glacier. Together with guides from Jøklagutane, you can experience Hardangerjøkulen up close, learn about the history and everything the ice can tell us.

Hiking

Explore the many trails and walks around Finse. The area is part of DNT's network of hiking trails, and from here you can follow the red T's south into the expansive Hardangervidda or north through the varied landscape of Skarvheimen.

From Finsehytta you can reach a number of impressive mountain peaks that give you a view of large parts of the Norwegian landscape. With a little luck, you can even glimpse Gaustatoppen and Horrungane in Jotuneheimen. On the way down from the peaks, you can often encounter snow patches even in the middle of summer. For an extra fun descent, you can borrow a toboggan at reception. Click here for hiking tips

The exhibitions include photographs, tools and personal objects that show everyday life and the challenges the navvies faced. Tickets can be purchased at the reception.
