Geiterygghytta is serviced during the winter season from about 1 March to 1 May and the summer season from about 21 June to 15 September.

A little about the cabin
Geiterygghytta or "perla" in Skarvheimen as it is also called is one of DNT Oslo og Omegn's cabins in Skarvheimen and has around 5000 visitors a year in addition to a good number of day visitors.
The cabin is located at an altitude of 1224 meters just outside the border of Skarvheimen National Park in Hol municipality. The cabin is an important hub for the route network in Skarvheimen and one of the most important gateways to the famous Aurlandsdalen valley. The cabin opened in 1914 and has 88 beds in 2 buildings. In both buildings there are toilets and showers and in the main cabin you will find common areas, dining room and reception. We serve a 3-course dinner every day as well as a breakfast buffet where our guests also make a packed lunch and during the day we have a café with various lunch dishes.
About the job
Geiterygghytta is a seasonal business with large seasonal variations. This implies that some periods are calm, while others are very intensive. It is therefore important that you are flexible in relation to days off and shifts, have a good willingness to work, have a positive attitude and do your best to ensure that the guests at Geiterygghytta are happy. We work in teams and help each other when needed.
We all work as cabin employees and the tasks can be anything from cleaning rooms and common areas, serving, reception/kiosk, café, various kitchen tasks such as washing dishes, baking bread, making desserts, dinner preparations etc, snow shoveling in the winter season to animal care in the summer, etc.
Normal working hours at Geiterygghytta are 7.5 hours, depending on how many guests we have. On busy days, you may have to work 10 hours. All employees have at least one day off a week. The shifts can be shared.
You must live on the site during the period you work and you live in the staff housing together with the other employees.

Positions summer season
We currently have vacancies as cabin employee for the summer season 2025!
We are looking for you who are over 18 years old, are willing to work, are efficient and independent, service-minded, cooperative, have a good mood and who want to contribute to the guests at Geiterygghytta having a nice stay with us.
It is a plus if you have experience from working at a tourist cabin from before, like to cook, are familiar with the area, or have knowledge of Visbook, but this is not a requirement.
The season is from 27 June to 14 September. You must expect to meet a few days before we open. You must live here for the entire work period.
We prioritize those who can work the whole season, but would like to hear from you who can work part of the season as well.
