đź“… When: Week 32
For many years, Terje Engø and Tove Rasmussen have arranged various fishing events on Hardangervidda, Stølsheimen, the moors in Ryfylke and other places. This year, they will teach our guests how to manage to get the trout to bite.
Since Geiteryggvannet and the other lakes in the surrounding area are over 1200 meters above sea level. Here, the trout are often more capricious than in water that is lower.
Our guests will get good advice on where to go fishing, and what to use. Terje is very fond of worms as bait and there will be worms available for those who want to try their luck.
Try fishing from a boat
There is a boat available and guests will be taken out fishing. When the catch is gutted, it will be possible to grill on a fire, - and we will try to make arrangements for hot smoking trout.
Who is it suitable for?
Trout Days are for all age groups. Adults will get advice on where to go to maybe catch big fish, while children will get help to fish close to the cabin or from a boat.
Is there a fixed program?
We make arrangements day by day, - since the weather cannot be controlled. If we are lucky, we can enjoy the catch at the water's edge in the warm sun, - or we have to stay inside. If anyone is interested in learning about what the fish eat, why some trout are red in the flesh, others are not, then Terje will explain this.
Learn more about drains and weather
What color is best on lures and spinners? Is it best to fish in rainy weather, sunshine, north wind or son wind, morning or evening? You will get an answer to this, - if you ask.
So this year, those who like to fish for trout must plan for a few days at Geiteryggen Turisthytte from Sunday 4 August to Saturday 10 August.
It is free which days you participate, and the event is free for all guests.
