
Hiking tips Geiterygghytta
With Geiterygghytta as a starting point, you can pick and choose hiking destinations, and the cabin is a great starting point for the trip down the Aurlandsdalen valley. You may be visited by both arctic foxes and reindeer on the trip. The cabin is easily accessible for both young and old, with only a 3 km walk along a mountain road.

For those who like long-distance trips, DNT's well-marked route and trail network is waiting. Geiterygghytta is a hub in Skarvheimen, with summer and winter routes to Storestølen, Raggsteindalen, Hallingskeid, Finse, Aurlandsdalen (only summer route) and Kongshelleren, with the possibility of further trips to Breistølen by highway 52.
Geiterygghytta is one of the cabins along the 350 km long MASSIV route that goes through the mountain areas of Breheimen, Jotunheimen, Skarvheimen and Hardangervidda. Read more about the strength test MASSIV
