Skarvheimen is a fantastic area for ski trips. The area around Geiterygghytta offers great opportunities for ski trips, both cabin-to-cabin trips and day trips.

Geiterygghytta is really in the middle of the winter adventure.
Here you can follow the twigs DNT trails in all directions.
4 km from county road (fv) 50 from the west side of the Geiterygg tunnel
17 km marked trail to Finse via Omsvatnet

Bakkehellertunga
Day trip from Geiterygghytta with beautiful views and fantastic descent from Bakkahellertunga.
Follow the twig trail over Geiteryggvatnet, take off and start the ascent. From the two large boulders at the top of Bakkehellertunga, 1504 m.a.s.l., the worn crown with a view of Hallingskarvet and Skarvheimen is located.

Lordehytta
Did you know that I have our own Lordehytte in Bakkahelleren?
Lordehytta is located on a slope just up the twig trail towards Omsvatnet. The stone cabin is not easy to spot where it mostly blends in with nature. Hald is looking for a stone slab about 60 meters up in the ground.
On the bench with your back leaning against the cabin, and the sun in your face, you find peace and can let your thoughts flow freely while you look out over Hallingskarvet.

The yes bench
Close to the dormer trail towards Kyrkjedøri you will find the yes bench.
Fun in the shelter of Storfonnosi and an orchestra seat overlooking Hallingskarvet, you will get exactly the answer you want.
Nice round trip from Geiterygghytta where you feel the twig trail to Raggsteindalen and go over to the trail from Kyrkjedøri.
