In the summer, there is a road all the way to the cabin. You can also get to Fondsbu with the ferry "Bitihorn", which departs from Bygdin Høyfjellshotell.
In winter, you can park at Tyin and drive a snowcat the two miles to the cabin, or walk along a twig trail and book transport for your luggage.
Activities and tour suggestions around the cabin
Although Jotunheimen has many high mountains and wild nature, the area around the cabin has many opportunities also for easy walks in an open landscape. You can go as steep or flat as you want, so there is an excellent playground for the children! For those who want to try their luck at fishing in the water, you can borrow fishing rods at the cabin. During the winter and autumn holidays, there are activity leaders at the cabin, who invite to various trips, games and activities for families with children.
Around the cabin there are countless hiking opportunities. The view is a nice summit hike, also for families with children. Here you have, as you can tell from the name, fantastic views of Jotunheimen.
Accommodation and food
At the cabin there are rooms of different sizes, in addition to a dormitory. We strive for families to be able to live together and have their own room, as far as possible. We also have a travel cot for the youngest. Inside the cabin there are books and games. Dinner is served at 19:00 and 21:00. If there are few guests, there is only one table setting. To ensure a place at the first table for the little ones, it is a good idea to notify the hosts on arrival, possibly when booking the stay.
